GOODNIGHT SIR

The fitting tribute to 6 members of St Giles boys club (later, the Canongate Boys Club) who were killed in action in WWII, but who loved to camp at Skateraw in their youth. The memorial was re-erected in 1980 by members of the Canongate Boys Club in memory of the founder warden, The Very Rev Dr Ronald Selby Wright, with whom many of the boys camped on the shores of Skateraw. The plaque on the reverse closes with the words "Goodnight Sir See You in the Morning"

Today, Torness Power Station dominates the skyline directly behind the bench

Location: Skateraw Memorial, Chapel Point, East Lothian, Scotland.
